The occasion's name comes from its finishing function: the representative burning of an enormous wooden model, alluded to as the Man, that happens on the penultimate evening, the Saturday night before Labor Day.
Beginning around 1991, the occasion has been at Black Rock City in northwestern Nevada, a brief city raised in the Black Rock City around 100 miles (160 km) north-upper east of Reno.
As per Burning Man prime supporter Larry Harvey in 2004, the occasion is directed by ten expressed standards: revolutionary consideration, giving, decommodification, self-reliance, self-expression, mutual exertion, civic responsibility, leaving no trace cooperation, and quickness
